This bootcamp introduces learners to the growing field of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), blending foundational cyber security frameworks with modern AI considerations. Students will conduct risk assessments, support compliance tasks, and explore how AI influences risk mitigation and business resilience.
Jobs: GRC Assistant, IT Risk Assistant, Compliance Support, Junior Cyber Policy Officer
On Module 1, you will enter the world of cyber security governance and risk, learning where GRC fits in modern organisations — and how AI is impacting both threats and responsibilities. You’ll map out the security ecosystem, and begin documenting how your role contributes to compliance, continuity, and assurance.
On Module 2, you will explore risk in action — identifying threats, scoring impact, and selecting controls. You’ll become comfortable with common frameworks like ISO 27001 and Essential Eight, and walk away knowing how to apply a structured approach to risk identification and treatment.
On Module 3, you will take on responsibilities related to business continuity, disaster recovery, and audit readiness. You’ll design realistic BCP/DRP docs and create artefacts that support GRC audits — showing you how documentation is central to both compliance and resilience.
On Module 4, you will explore how AI introduces new governance and compliance challenges. From ethics to legal frameworks, you’ll examine regulatory approaches and create internal materials that help businesses assess and manage AI-related risks.
On Module 5, you will showcase your GRC readiness by building a compliance pack for a fictional organisation. Then, you’ll shift to job prep — crafting a professional resume, enhancing your online presence, and practising how to talk about GRC with confidence and clarity.
